SMART SOLAR Resources and Care Winterization
Care for Your Smart Solar Fountain/ Birdbath
To keep your Smart Solar Fountain in top condition, follow these care instructions:
- Water Maintenance: In strong sunlight or windy conditions, water may splash outside the basin. Regularly top off and change the water to keep it clean and free from debris.
- Winter Protection: If temperatures drop below 40ºF, empty the water and store the entire fountain indoors (garage, shed, or basement). Simply covering it outdoors is not sufficient. Damage caused by freezing temperatures is not covered under warranty. Proper storage ensures long-lasting performance and durability.

Performance:
To ensure peak performance, place your solar fountain in direct sunlight. The more sun it absorbs, the better it will function. Without direct exposure, the battery won’t charge, causing reduced performance or inactivity.
On cloudy days, if left on, the pump will stop once the battery is depleted. To recharge, switch it off and position it in direct sunlight for several hours. Once fully charged, it can run anywhere, in any weather, day or night. If the fountain moves into shade while operating, the battery will automatically keep the pump running.
